Originally composed for chorus in 2002-2005, I have done numerous orchestrations of these songs over the intervening years before, finally, arriving in the form it is in here. As a String Quartet it maintains the original lyrical flow of the songs, whilst enabling greater colour, variety and virtuosity than was possible for voices along. This quartet is dedicated to Simon Barber as thanks for the dedication of his first String Quartet nearly fifteen years ago.
