Instrumentation: Large tam-tam & Glockenspiel

This work was composed in 1995 as the middle movement of my Elegy for clarinet, percussion and piano. Originally this movement was for Tam Tam alone, however I revised this to add vibraphone in 2000. I have again revised this movement some 25 years later - altering some of the pacing and swapping the vibraphone for the glockenspiel, to better accentuate the contrast between the deep Tam Tam and the upper partials dramatically emphasised by the mallet percussion.
