This Suite comprises 3 movements: Forest Storm, Forest Shadows, and Forest Nights. Each movement expresses a different mood or characteristic of forests in wilderness settings - in this case the south west of Tasmania, but not limited to that location. The music sweeps in like a storm, finds calm before the storm returns; then the fauna of the forests is expressed in the 2nd movement, with animals scratching and scattering around. Finally, the 3rd movement brings all this together, with some key piano phrases, and a settling restfulness - until day returns. Clearly, this music aims to celebrate Nature and warm our hearts to its beauty, fragility and resilience.
