The Red Rock volcanic complex south of Alvie, Victoria, is composed of over 40 ancient eruption points. There, the earth rolls, dips, rises and overlaps; the maars, tuff rings and scoria cones drastically contrast with the otherwise flat land that surrounds the site. ‘Red Rock’ represents the unrestrained energy of the volcano, the clash of the elements, and the iron that reddens the earth. Quiet comes in ‘After the Dust Settles’ as the earth and life forms re-adjust to the changed environment.
