The title stems from the initial interaction between a quick and a slow idea vying for predominance throughout. Techniques involve chromatic shifts, tonal uncertainties and twos versus threes metric contrasts. Finally, the slow idea establishes the upper hand concluding the one movement work on an assertive F major triad.
The work could be viewed as a metaphor for seeking clarity out of the current political confusions all around us.
Instrumentation: Soprano Saxophone in Bb, Alto Saxophone in Eb, Tenor Saxophone in Bb, & Baritone Saxophone in Eb.
