Artist statement on the work: This choral piece is a musical reflection on the fragile state of our planet — a sonic journey through the heartbreak of environmental destruction and the hope that still flickers beneath the surface. At its core, it is a call to recognise the deep wounds inflicted on Mother Earth, who has nurtured life for millennia but now bears the scars of our neglect. Yet even in despair, there is potential for renewal. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, this work embodies the belief that from crisis can come transformation — but only if we rise together. The melodies and harmonies carry both sorrow and strength, echoing the urgent message that while the climate crisis threatens our shared future, unity, compassion, and innovation can forge new paths forward. This music is not just a lament, but a reminder: we are all part of Earth’s story. And together, we can compose a new chapter — one of healing, resilience, and rebirth.
