Cradle Song was written for her father and composed before Elizabeth was married. Her maiden name of Cox appears on the manuscript. It is her first known composition. Originally composed for flute and piano (later for violin) was added. This arrangement for Cor Anglais and Piano was made in 2023 and is a short andante.
